The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency over the sit-at-home order in the Southeast.

While reacting to the two-week sit order by the proscribed IPOB, Ohanaeze’s Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said declaring a state of emergency would send a strong signal to the Southeast governors, who would now be compelled to find a lasting solution to the order.

According to Isiguzoro, the Ohanaeze will not fold its arms and allow miscreants to destroy economic activities in the Southeast.

He said the body would not allow Simon Ekpa to destroy the economic activities of the Southeast, noting that Ekpa’s action is an attempt to divide Igbos.
