
Commander National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Abia State Junaidu Yusuf has called on the relevant stakeholders to put preventive and enforcement measures in place to check the menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Abia State.
Yusuf who stated this during this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, with the theme, ‘From Awareness to Action in Aba the command headquarter, advised Abians to embrace the message of having a drug-free society and to remain worthy ambassadors of the War Against Drug Abuse.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse and trafficking, seeking cooperation from relevant stakeholders, stressing that the challenges associated with drug abuse are complex, but they remain solvable if appropriate measures and policies are implemented.
The Commander emphasized realistic prevention strategies, including abstinence from the use of illicit drugs, to prevent complications while advising the general public to deal with only qualified personnel in matters of drug abuse while condemning all forms of stigma against drug users.
