The Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the last election, Atiku Abubakar, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for removing fuel subsidies without proper consultations. Speaking in Bauchi State while addressing PDP officials elected in the recent polls, Atiku kicked against the process employed by the President in announcing the removal of fuel subsidies. The decision was first taken by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022, however, the 2023 Presidential candidates from various political parties including Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi had sought to end the funds-guzzling subsidy regime if elected.
