The Central Bank of Nigeria on Thursday denied a report that it devalued the Naira to N631 to the dollar. CBN tweeted a graphical image with fake news to debunk a report suggesting that it devalued the Naira. The devaluation, according to the report, comes within 24 hours after the dollar had sold for N461.6 at the Importers and Exporters window on Tuesday. President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday met with the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, at the presidential villa. At the end of the meeting, neither the presidency nor Emefiele disclosed the outcome of the briefing. Tinubu had declared his government’s decision to unify the exchange rate in Nigeria.
