Nigeria professional football league outfit, Abia Warriors Football Club, will be returning back to its fortress at the Umuahia Township Stadium after being away from its traditional home ground for two seasons.

During its spell away from home, the Umuahia warlords prosecuted its home matches at the Okigwe Township Stadium which was the adopted home of the team for two seasons.

Following the recent fixtures released by the Interim Management Committee the organizers of the NPFL, the Umuahia-based team will be staging their historic comeback to their home ground in Week 2 against Bayelsa United in Group B of the abridged league.

The match which will be a midweek fixture comes up on 11 January 2023.

The Umuahia Warlords team who will play former Champions Rangers International in the first match of the season at Ranger’s adopted home, Awka, will also face Lobi stars, Niger Tornadoes, Wikki Tourists, and Rivers United at the stadium in the first stanza of the League which is expected to end on 18-19 February 2023.
