A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia state, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, better known as Don Lulu, has reiterated his earlier position to sue the party over its governorship primary election which returned Chief Okey Ahiwe as its candidate in the forthcoming March 11, 2023 election.
Igbokwe who was a guest on Rapid 96.5 FM revealed that he expected the party stakeholders to call all the aspirants together and give reasons why there was a need for fresh primaries.

“Sometimes, you know having everybody on the table has a lot to do especially in our society, you don’t disregard everybody and just believe that maybe the state belongs to a particular people or it’s their private decision to make, I wasn’t happy about it and besides this is a guy that has a dream for his state, I am been driven by my passion and I know I am prepared to lead the state to the next level”.

He added that all he wants is the interpretation of the court; insisting that the Abia governorship candidate of the PDP, Okey Ahiwe is not prepared for the governorship.
The suit is seeking the nullification of the second primary election and the candidacy of Ahiwe.

In the amended originating summons filed by Dr J. A. Akubo, SAN, Igbokwe claims among others, a declaratory relief that he is the authentic candidate of the PDP for the Abia State governorship election.

He also sought the court’s declaratory order that Ahiwe was not qualified to contest the fresh primary election having not participated in the previous primary election hence his election should be nullified.

The case has been fixed for a hearing tomorrow.
