Abia State government, yesterday, confirmed former Arsenal striker, Kanu Nwankwo, as chairman of Enyimba Football Club. 

According to a statement by the Chief Press secretary to the Governor of Abia State, Kazie Uko, the appointment is with immediate effect. 

Similarly, the governor also made twenty-nine other appointments to various positions. 

The former Director General, of Alex Otti’s campaign organisation Hon Iheanacho Obioma, has been appointed Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs. Chinedu Ekeke will now double as the  Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor and his Senior Special Assistant on Sports and Youth Development. 

Ogbonnia Okereke will head the  Abia State Environmental Protection Agency while the Abia State Agency for Control of AIDS now has Dr. Uloaku Ukaegbu as its  Director,

Martins Okechukwu Justice popularly known as J Martins has been appointed Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment while Boniface Alozie Uche and John Sam Obuh have been appointed Chairmen of Abia Comets and Abia Warriors respectively.
